Good morning girls and boys! Welcome back to another filled day of distance learning! Today in reading we are focusing on character traits!

1. Watch Ms. England's video

2. Watch Ms. H read Ch. 2 and 3 (two different links)

-Think about Rex's physical (outside) traits and personality (inside) traits

3. Create a character traits poster for REX (see Ms. England's video for directions)

4. Post a video showing your poster, explaining two of the personality traits and sharing what in the book made you write those two personality traits

5. Read independently for 15 minutes. Focus on the characters in the books you read.

In writing we will continue to learn about different types of books, but we will focus on FANTASY today. Welcome to FANTASY FICTION THEATRE!


1) Watch Ms. Wilker's Flipgrid video mini lesson 2) Click on the posters to understand more 3) Choose 1-3 characters for a short FANTASY video story (Lego figures, sticks, stuffed animals, drawings, etc.).

4) Make your own short Flipgrid video of a FANTASY Fiction story to show your understanding of this type of story.

Tip: Think about where your Fantasy characters live and what they can do.

Activity 2: Patterns of the Moon

1. Watch Ms. H reading The Sun is My Favorite Star, by Frank Asch

2..Watch the brainpop video (username: graded2 passcode graded)

3. Watch Ms. Jennifer's video about phases of the Moon and try the experiment at home

4. By April 6th post on flipgrid saying what you learned about the moon. Make a drawing that shows the moon, Earth and Sun. Use arrows to show how the light from the sun reflects off the moon to the Earth. Show your drawing on flipgrid.
